Collaboration: concept art

The next stage of the project was working on the concept art. After deciding on the style for the animation, which was simple, bright colours and shapes for the buildings, along with being cartoony to match moom, I did some concept art for what the city might look like, as well as some of the individual buildings:

For thebuildings in the street, I took a lot of inspiration from places like london and amsterdam, where you have lots of different buildings of varying sizes and colours, along with time periods. I also decided to take the concept art I did and turn it into an alien invasion, which would give us an idea of what would be beamed up in the animation.

Building on the city concept arts, I decided to do some concepts for individual buildings in the city to get a better idea of how exactly they'd be modelled. I had the idea to do two larger, more generic buildings in varying colours that could be repeated many times, and then a few more unique buildings. This would give the city a feeling of variety while saving a bit of time on modelling instead of having every building be unique.
