Premise project reflective statement

The Premise project has been my favourite project I've done to date, despite the fact that the lack of structure which we've had in other projects was quite stressful for me. I started out knowing that I wanted to do a Character design / creature design project, and although it took me a little longer than I'd have liked to choose a project idea to focus on, I feel like the idea I chose was the best for me as it allowed me to develop the skills I will need to go into the area of creature design in my future career.

I am pleased with the amount of work I was able to do for the project, but I feel I could have been better with time management to fully explore my premise project. I think I focused too much time into the Dragon like species (Plumaturas) and the sentient species (Bractetan Lizards) and not enough into the environment, and as a result the environment side of the project isn't as strong as the other elements of the project. I also would have liked to develop some other areas of my intitial project idea in terms of worldbuilding that I didn't have time to, icluding the other Plumatura species, what equipment the Bractetan Lizards use to get around on the Plumaturas, and what the 'ascended ones' would look like. If I take this into the minor project next year, I'd love to refine the areas mentioned above even more, and I think it would be a great project to refine my 3D skills with in Maya.

In conclusion, this project has greatly improved many aspects of my skills, such as creature/character design, Digital painting and Drawing, Worldbuilding and concepting, but a combination of time management failing and the complexity of the project meant I haven't got as far with the project as I would've liked. I feel like I'm in a good position for next year, and I will probably take this project into Minor at least.
