Sentient species clothing

 Here are some clothing designs for my sentient species. The main item of clothing is a skirt which consists of the two pieces of fabric to allow for more movement. The skirt is their everyday wear, but if it gets cold they have the cape. The coloured parts of the clothing are based on what the individual wants, and pretty much any colours are available except for purple, which is seen as the colour of the ancestors, so is reserved for spiritual purposes only (hence why its only in the priest and the healer's clothing).
The front piece of fabric also features a pattern which is unique to the individual's pod (the family group they belong to). This pattern will be on every item of clothing the individual has.
They have seperate work clothes specific to professions, some of which can be seen here.

UV mapping

Today I was focused on mapping out the UVs for all my objects. I had a lot of issues with the UVs, at first, I just couldn't understand them.So, I had to go back and re-watch some of the tutorial videos from toolkit and even look up some videos on youtube to try to get a better understanding of them. In the end, I was able to get the hang on laying them out so they look good, but it was quite the process to get to that point.

Major: Beginning the texturing process

 Now that all the modelling was done, i moved on to texturing. The main aim is to get textures onto everything in the scene, and then go in and add details. I'm happy with some of the textures so far, but I think some of them are too realistic for what I have in mind, particularly the wood texture, so I'm going to do some research into how to get these to look more stylised. Here is the current textures in maya. I still need to add the lighting but it is giving me a good idea of how the textures are working together. It's much clearer in this how the realistic textures arent working. I think I will also change the floor from wood to flagstones, as the scene is quite wood heavy at the moment.
